Colchester Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership
The overall aim of the Colchester Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership is to improve the quality of life for people living, working, studying, managing a business and visiting Colchester Borough through a reduction in the fear of, and incidence of, crime and disorder.
The objectives of the Colchester Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership are:
CRIME:
- To fulfil the obligations set out in the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 (amended 2002).
- Reduce adult re-offending rates for those under probation supervision
- Reduce rate of proven re-offending by young offenders
- Reduce repeat incidents of domestic violence
- Reduce assaults causing injury
- Reduce fear of crime
- Reduce violent Crime by 5%
- Reduce dwelling burglary
- Reduce theft of motor vehicle
ENVIRONMENTAL CRIME:
- Improved Street and environmental cleanliness (levels of graffiti, litter, detritus and fly posting)
ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR:
- Reduce perceptions of ASB
- Reduce ASB across Colchester by 5%
- Reduce anti-social behaviour caused by the night time economy
- Reduce anti-social behaviour caused by children or young people
DRUG MISUSE:
- Reduce substance misuse by young people
- Reduce/tackle substance misuse
- Reduce crime/offending caused by drug misuse
ALCOHOL:
- Reduce alcohol harm related hospital admission rates
- Reduce crime/offending caused by alcohol misuse
