Brentwood Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership

The Brentwood Crime and Disorder Partnership draws together common aims and aspirations for making the Borough of Brentwood a safer place in which to live, work, and relax. Its members therefore speak and act jointly on vital community safety issues for the Borough, establish or follow best practice and share information.

The purpose of the Brentwood Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership is:

  • To fulfil the obligations set out in the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 (amended 2002).
  • To ensure the existing low levels of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour are maintained so that we remain one of the safest areas in the country.
  • To promote integration of the Community Safety aims & objectives of the Borough Council s Community Plan and the Brentwood Local Strategic Partnership s Community Strategy into mainstream policies and services.
  • To agree specific targets for improving community safety.
  • To review achievements against targets and take appropriate action.
  • To consider an annual update on Crime and Disorder (CAD) trends; and receive regular reports from the Management Steering Group on the progress being made by the CAD Strategy Action Plan Groups on the delivery of 15% crime reduction by March 31st 2008
  • To promote effective co-ordination of activities and sharing of finances and resources.
  • To promote information sharing and best practice in Community Safety.
  • To identify and explore opportunities to attract funding.
  • To lead and/or support bids for funding.
