Traveline South East
Traveline South East aims to comply with the Transport Act specifically to operate the Traveline Service to provide transport information to the travelling public. Public transport patronage and satisfaction will improve with better information, particularly about bus operations, and this needs to be coordinated by the Highways Authorities rather than the bus operating companies.
ECC are responsible (along with 21 other local authorities who have formed SELTA - South East Local Transport Authorities) for funding the provision of information, IT equipment and overall development and coordination of the scheme.
Bus companies have established PTI South East who are responsible for providing the Traveline South East telephone call centre service. It is owned and administered by the bus operators in the South East who pay for incoming as well as outgoing calls from members of the public seeking travel information.
