The Sustainable Community Strategy (Maldon)

Facing the Future

The Sustainable Community strategy pulls together the key issues that need to be addressed to improve the quality of life for the people who live and wok in the District. It includes a long term vision and priorities for delivering change and forms an overarching strategy for the District. It has links to all the main strategies that cover the district, in particular the Essex Local Area Agreement and the Maldon District Local Development Framework.

The LSP has produced a full version which discusses the issues for the District and a summary version which simply gives the Vision and the priorities.

We will continue to work on the Sustainable Community Strategy to ensure that it remains responsive to changing legislation and the changing socio-economic environment. Updated versions of the Sustainable Community strategy will be posted on to the LSP website as soon as they become available.

In determining the critical issues for 2010 the steering group was influenced by recent data complied for the LSP by the county council. The Maldon District Profile demonstrates the need to address the chosen subjects
