Children’s Trust Implementation Groups

Purpose 

To improve outcomes for children related to each implementation group area.

Aims & Objectives

 The Implementation Groups are constituted around the Outcomes Framework of Every Child Matters.

The Implementation Groups will be responsible for delivering specific parts of the Children and Young People’s Plan and will bring together the work of other pre-existing groups and replace them. Other groups may be formed under the implementation groups to provide capacity.  Implementation groups will have devolved responsibility from the Joint Commissioning Board for some elements of commissioning. 

The groups will be: 

Be Healthy

We will help every child and young person to be healthy by tackling health inequalities and helping all children and young people make informed healthy lifestyle choices, with access to the services they need.  By improving Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and by providing effective support for parents and carers.

The Be Healthy Implementation Group is made up of the following groups: 

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Children With Disabilities
  • Teenage Pregnancy Strategy Expert Group
  • Young People's Substance Misuse Expert Group
  • Parenting Strategy Group
  • Healthy Lifestyles

Stay Safe

We will help every child and young person to stay safe by strengthening the services and processes that keep children and young people safe from neglect and abuse.  By ensuring that all children and young people and their families feel safe and secure where they are cared for, play, live and go to work and by strengthening corporate parenting.The Stay Safe Implementation Group is made up of the following groups:

  • Corporate Parenting
    • Looked After Children
    • Looked After Children Health
  • Young Carers
  • Prevention
  • Stay Safe in the Community

Enjoy and Achieve

We will help every child and young person to enjoy and achieve by enabling all children and young people to aspire, learn, achieve highly and realise their potential.

The Enjoy & Achieve Implementation Group is made up of the following groups:

  • Schools Partnership
  • GCSEs
  • Level 4 Maths and English
  • Early Years Foundation Stage

Make a Positive Contribution

We will help every child and young person to make a positive contribution by providing all children and young people with opportunities for a fulfilling and enjoyable childhood.  We will aim for a sustainable legacy by maximising the potential of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Positive Contribution Implementation Group is made up of the following groups:

  • Youth Offending Management Board
  • Safer Essex
  • Children's Involvement/Youth Participation
  • Link to Olympic Group

Achieve Economic Well-being  

We will help every child and young person to achieve economic well being by reducing the impact of poverty and the recession on the lives of all children and young people and their families.

The Achieve Economic Well Being Implementation Group is made up of the following groups:

  • Housing Corporate Group
  • Employment/Employers Group
  • Transitions
  • 14-19
  • NEET Prevention
  • NEET Reduction

Narrowing the Gap

We will help every child and young person to narrow the gap by improving the chances of Looked After children, young carers and all other children and families at risk of poor outcomes.

We will continue to enhance provision, respond to changing needs and seek feedback about our services.

Workforce Development

The need for children's workforce roles to be filled by competent, confident and skilled workers who will use integrated practices will lead the way to ensure improved outcomes for our children and young people.

Essex Council For Voluntary Youth Services

There are four Cluster Groups which cover Essex, Southend and Thurrock and these are open to any organisation that works with Children, Young People and their Families.  The Chair for each area is as follows;

  • Mid Essex - Braintree, Maldon and Chelmsford  - Chair: Jane Youdale
  • North East  - Tendring & Colchester  - Chair: Dan Kessler
  • West Essex - Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping - Chair: Arthur Steward
  • South Essex - Basildon and Brentwood (Thurrock) - Castlepoint and Rochford (Southend) - Chair: Jane Youdale
