Organisation: Mid Essex Primary Care Trust

NHS Mid Essex (Mid Essex Primary Care Trust) was established on 1st October 2006, and is responsible for providing health services to people living in the Braintree District Council, Chelmsford Borough Council and Maldon District Council areas, a total population of around 360,000.
The three main functions of NHS Mid Essex are:
- Work with the local population to improve health and well-being;
- Commission (buy) high quality, responsive and efficient healthcare services that meet local needs across all service sectors
- Where this provides best care and value, to directly provide high quality responsive and efficient community healthcare services.
The vision for the trust is of healthy communities where everyone is able to make healthy lifestyle choices and get the health and well being services they need.
